If you haven’t seen already, I did my first formal review on them here (with embarrassing pics ><).

So this is me 2-3 months ago.

I told Shu I wanted something like a greeny darker brown with less orange tones.  It was up to him how to interpret this haha

After 3 hours of washing, cutting, dying, treating – tada!  Loving it!

None of these portray exactly what it looks like in real life, but hey I tried.
In some lighting it looks like a true ashy green brown.  In others it is reddish.  Quite interesting.

The ends aren’t exactly the same color as different product was used due to the damage.  But you need to stare to notice.

For those who can’t see the difference:

• Darker healthier looking hair
• Fringe shorter and layered
• Split ends cut off – a little trim
• A little bit of thinning
• A tonne of weight off my head

Under fluorescent lighting, a subtle ashy color comes out

TIP: To prevent blonde hair from going yellow/orange/brassy, use blonde/violet shampoo and conditioner.  It will help neutralize unwanted tones.

And you can see how tired I am.  Been awake since 6am and really fighting to keep eyes open…

And just one more blurry pic in low light – looks like a dark reddish brown (but really isn’t!)

I also highly recommend to get a treatment done if you have dry or damaged hair.  It smells so good and it really does help relax the hair.

The treatment lasts longer if you continue to do your own hair masks weekly.

So yet another great experience, even though I was there for longer than expected.  I was able to space out and enjoy my hair pamper

The only thing is you have to purchase it with other items, which is OK because I nearly never just order one item when online shopping.. hehe

I bought this from cosme-de.com and it’s actually a pretty good online shopping site.  Items are shipped very quickly, and are delivered in a box, and are individually wrapped in bubble wrap   Free shipping too!

Lilyth Travel brush set – comes in this polyester pouch

Each brush has its own plastic cover.  The larger powder and blush brush has a plastic brush guard.

These are definitely travel size.  The whole brush is probably only slightly longer than a palm.

The largest powder brush is 12cm long so that should give a little bit of reference to size.

Powder and blush:

Pros:

• Super soft synthetic fibers
• Not scratchy at all
• Did not have any offensive odours upon opening
• Really well made, no sign of dodgey assembly of the parts
• No fraying of fibers or bleeding of color
• Washes easily and dries quickly as it is not very dense
• Distributes loose powder very well.  The small size of the brush allows you to do a little buffing motion
• The angled shape of the blush brush makes it easy to contour the cheek bones
• Picks up product well, and blends out easily
• Lightweight ferrule and brush head, great for travel

wow I didn’t even know, I think it was dome-shaped smudger brush XD Works a treat!

I rubbed this on my bf’s hand after I finished with it and even he was surprised at how soft it was eheh

Lip Brush

These brushes are all synthetic and are very light weight, good for travel.

Pros:

• Does not scratch the eyes or lips at all
• Packs on e/s nicely
• The concealer brush is great as a smudger or used as a pencil brush to blend in outer v’s

Cons:

• If only this came with its own travel pouch!  But for $16USD can’t be too greedy

Really happy with this brush set, it’s the best quality travel set I’ve used for the price you pay, apart from Ecotools.  Even Lancôme’s brush set is not as good as this!  Definitely give these a try if you have $16 to spare

I still have yet to purchase a full size brush set though, I guess that will have to wait… eheh….

Lancôme Huile Éclat Remove-All Deep Cleansing Oil (Face & Eyes)

& the legendary Bi-Facil double action eye makeup remover

Lancôme Huile Éclat Remove-All Deep Cleansing Oil (Face & Eyes)

I was in search for an alternative to my Fancl one.  I did say it was really good, but I realized I preferred Softymo’s White Cleansing Oil over Fancl, so I decided I won’t repurchase and try something else instead.

Lancôme’s cleansing oil is a great alternative and I’m glad I bought it (from cosme-d).

Pros:

• Great volume – 200mL for $37USD.  Meanwhile Fancl costs $30.80USD for a measly 120mL
• I use 1/2 – 3/4 pump for each eye
• Consistency is like a thin oil, not as thick as DHC but very spreadable
• Each pump’s worth gets rid of all heavy duty waterproof make up like a breeze
• That same pump is enough to smear around half the face to get rid of face product
• Light lemony scent.  I can’t put a finger on it (I’m so bad with scents ><), but it’s a nice refreshing scent
• My face feels clean and plump after I wash the product off
• Emulsifies once it touches water, though not as strongly as Fancl, Softymo or DHC

I do prefer this over Fancl though

Lancôme Bi-Facil Double-Action eye makeup remover

If you remember seeing my Lancôme gift set you would have seen this pretty bottle in there.  It took me a while to get to it but I did finally give it a try.

Pros:

• Removes waterproof makeup easier than its cheaper alternatives like Maybelline, L’oreal and other two phase removers
• Gentle on the eyes, I didn’t get any irritations from this
• Does not feel oily
• I can’t remember if this was scented, to my recollection it had an aura of freshness to it (lol)
• Unlike its cheaper alternatives, the cool thing about Bi-Facil is that it stays mixed once shaken up for a good 10-15 minutes
• Eyes feel moisturized afterwards
• Decent size – 125mL
• Elegant, sturdy packaging.  Did not bug me like Huile Éclat did.

Cons:

• Removing make up this way adds an extra step to makeup removal as you have to separately get rid of face make up
• It also wastes an additional two cotton pads per night
• You must use 1 cotton pad for each eye, no recycling
• It melted make up, but I still had to rub my eyes a little to get rid of the mascara
• It still has a little bit of difficulty removing my waterproof mascara.  One 10-15sec press was definitely not enough

For those who like to remove eye make up separately from face make up, I do recommend to try Bi-Facil at least once as it definitely performs better than its cheaper alternatives.

I personally prefer cleansing oil because I’m lazy and I want to protect my eyes from unnecessary abrasion.

I ended up giving this to my sister by the way because she prefers to remove eye make up separately and cleanse her face in the shower.

I’m quite excited about Jill Stuart’s overseas exclusive limited edition range.  This was released on Gooddealer and I picked it up from there.

For their Summer Dress collection, Jill Stuart decided to revert back to the cardboard case they used back in 2007, before they changed to the princessy plastic casing.

I only bought one e/s quad as I’m quite satisfied with my current lip product collection, and I don’t really wear blue e/s

I bought 101 Tieredfrill Dress

Jill Stuart 101 Teiredfrill Dress – a mix of pinks and browns

• The first pink to the right is a sheer baby pink with a hint of lavender.
  - I use it as the highlighter for the brow bone and inner corners of the eye
• The second pink is a richer beigey pink, but still sheer.  It has a very slight hint of gold through it.
  - I suppose this would be the main lid base shade 
• I absolutely LOVE the dark brown shade!  It is a very flattering bronzey brown with golden shimmers.  So pretty!!
  - Great for contouring or used as a the main lid shade! 
• The darkest color (second last to the right) is actually a dark greyish purple.
  - Makes a decent liner shade.

Jill Stuart just had to make the highlight pink… not gold but pink!!!  Frustrates me a lot!

However I love the darker shades, and the pink highlighting shades do help to achieve a sweeter smokey eye.

Pros:

• Pretty packaging
• Signature JS floral scent
• Delicate shimmers, not chunky at all
• Decent pigmentation that is buildable
• The texture of this e/s is a much smoother powder than previous JS quads
• Less fall out, but still make sure to tap off the excess and use eye primer!!!
• Really loving the brown shade!

Cons:

• Limited edition, not a permanent quad
• People who are sensitive to scented cosmetics may not like this
• Wish JS would come up with a decent true gold quad and venture away from pink
• The box has a slight… synthetic leather shoe smell which is quite strong when you first open it.
  This does not transfer to the e/s.
• So the con is that the cardboard case, although pretty, smells of glue…. yuck
• I am scared to death of putting this into my bag, I think I will cry if the case stains
• It would have been nice if JS included a small protective bag for this precious quad

So overall I’m really happy with this quad and glad I have it ^^

For some reason I had a craving to eat hollow Easter eggs this year – just to crack them open and eat the crunchy pieces of yummy rich dark chocolate… mmmmm

Coolangatta and Tweed Heads Gold Club

Set out here with the parents on Saturday and had a massive feast.  Who would have thought the Golf Club was the best place to eat.  Was a bit far though – a nearly 2 hour drive

The view was so pretty.  The golf course was massive as well

I sneaked a few photos.  We aren’t allowed to take pictures of the salad bar

For under $20, we had a wide selection of fried seafood, salads, asian food, some roasts, and even octopus and mussel.  This was when the menu said it does not consist of seafood!! They have prawns, crabs, oysters, and other seafood on the proper seafood menu but only on certain days.

The Golf Club is mostly used by the elderly, so for those who are expecting some Versace high class fine dining experience, don’t bother coming here.
However, if you just want to have a relaxing lunch with a few close friends or family, this is a great place if you want to travel a bit.

Went to Harbourtown afterwards and picked up these awesome leather bracelets from Oroton, I’m in love hehe

(The red underneath is my newest Madison gathered leather Lindsey satchel from Coach bought 2 months ago^^ a really great bag for casual wear)

RMK Sprinking Eyes in 03 Gray

A grey themed palette with browns and lavender for some contrast

I originally left this palette because I wasn’t keen on the lavender, but the grey and silver remained at the back of my mind, so in the end I gave in and bought it.

Again a very lovely sheer but buildable high shimmer mixture of shadows

Can’t really remember how I scratched the left side of my hand either…

Over the grey cream, the powder shadows are intensified

Pros:

• Big shimmer – the glistening type
• Cream shadow is best applied with a synthetic cream shadow brush or the brush included
• Silver shade can be used as highlighter
• The powder shadows used on top of the cream shadow creates a subtle contour
• Minimal to no fall out
• Allows for a little bit of creativity, you can use all or just one colour
• Sturdy sophisticated packaging

Dusty Bright Eyes in 01 Beige Brown

Super shimmery and pretty gold pressed powder

Swatched, the brown cream shade is quite muddy, same as on the eyes

Pros:

• Waterproof, smudgeproof
• Lasts all day with and without eye primer
• Very pigmented – definitely layer with this, don’t go in with a heavy hand
• Cream shadow is buttery smooth
• Powder shadow can also work as all lid highlighter
• Dries quickly – so work quickly to blend as well!
• High shimmer
• Really easy to achieve a bling neutral with this
• Brush included works well with the cream shadow

RMK Dusty Bright Eyes 03 Grayish Brown

The browny gold powder shade is why this is called grayish brown

A bluish grey and a slightly more bronze shade of gold to accompany

This picture does not do it justice, it’s really a much more vibrant gold grey

Pros:

• Same as above

Cons:

• Would have been nice if it was a pure grey rather than bluish grey
• Use a light hand and layer

This palette definitely gives an intense smokey look, more than what can be achieved with Sprinkling Eyes in 01 alone.  This would be great used on its own or as a base for your other shadows.

RMK Pressed Powder 02 Pale Pink

I wanted to try this for a while since I heard many raves about this product from Kevin老師, Fuzkittie and other youtube gurus.

It’s a great idea to have an all in one finishing, highlighting and correcting powder!

I chose 02 as pale pink provides a translucent finish, while the others have more correcting functions.

The powder is quite sheer, and you can’t really distinguish the shades with a pure swipe.

You can see the highlighter powder easily, but the rest is pretty transparent.

When I first used this powder I thought maybe it was a bit overrated, but over some more uses I found how glowy and healthy my skin looked when I use this!

If you want coverage with your powder – this is not your product.

However, if you are after a transparent finishing powder that can enhance the look of your skin – this is THE product!

I really like how well this helps to brighten the under-eye area, and also how well it can highlight the face subtly.

Pros:

• Lightweight powder
• Finely milled and applies like velvet
• Light/no coverage, but somehow makes the skin look translucent and glowy
• Swirl the brush to combine all 4 powders to get the glowy finish, or just use the skin color to get a matte finish
• Great highlighter, does not turn you into a disco ball
• Brush provided is a great highlighter brush
• Helps keep BB cream/foundation/moisturizer/sunscreen in place
• SPF14++
• Great compact design

RMK Jelly Cheeks 01 Sugar Pink

For some reason I decided to skip the spring collection, I’m not really sure why because I am sort of regretting that decision.

Anyhow I had been wanting to try out jelly cheeks longer than I have wanted to try their pressed powder.

Not a great representation of the sheer shimmers and the color, but oh wells =.=

The finish is not super shimmery, and provides a sweet glowing baby pink flush to the cheeks

Pros:

• Powdery jelly texture
• No fly away powder troubles
• Applies slightly cool to the cheeks, which feels pretty nice
• The smooth jelly-like texture makes blending easier, and dries quickly to a powder finish
• Jelly blush helps prevent a non-powdery/cakey look
• Brush included is good for application – you need a stiffer brush for this blush
• Shimmery but on the cheeks becomes a nice glow
• Pigmented enough, 2-3 swipes is enough to get a good color payout
• Great pure shade of pink for those that want a simple PINK

Cons:

• Would be even better if the brush was slightly larger, as the smaller brush can make the blush apply blotchy
• This is a good blush but it is still not my go-to blush – I still reach for JS more
• I find that cream blushes don’t go on as well after the application of finishing powder, it requires a bit more effort with blending

Not a regretful buy, but also not an absolute love.  I am itching a little to try their newer blushes, but I shouldn’t because I still haven’t even opened my Canmake blushes yet!!

Meet my new loves – Revlon Lip Butters in Berry Smoothie, Peach Parfait and Crème Brûlée

Australia is very slow in releasing new products but luckily I have been able to get my hands on these elsewhere MUAHAHA

I have basically abandoned all the lip glosses I bought for these.  I fear the day I run out, but hopefully by then they will be readily available here in Australia

Pros:

• Subtle pigmentation – but each shade provides its own special tint to the lips
• Moisturizing – does not dry out my lips AT ALL!
• Lasts a good amount of time
• Can be applied thin or thick, and it will stay on without smearing all over the place!
• Not sticky
• Love the design on the lid
• Gives a healthy shine to the lips
• All in one – lip balm, lip tint, lip gloss – so awesome!
• Has a subtle candy smell, no cheap lipstick smell
• Lip sticks have no taste
• Great quality – soft, but does not disintegrate
• Not gritty at all even though it contains shimmer particles
• Affordable – but knowing the way Australia likes to jack up its prices it will probably be like…. $20 here

Revlon Lip Butter – 025 Peach Parfait

A lovely natural peachy pink color with gold shimmers

This is a really good my-lips-but-better shade, which brightens up my lip color without making it look like “wow she’s got lipstick on”.

Revlon Lip Butter – 050 Berry Smoothie

A richer shade of pink with pinky shimmers

For those that want a little bit more color than that of Peach Parfait, this is a great choice.

It has a richer tint of reddish pink, which brings a definite shade of pink to the lips, without looking too bright.  So perfect!

Revlon Lip Butter – 095 Crème Brûleé

A lovely nude shade with subtle golden shimmers

The only nude shade I have kept coming back to.  I own Revlon’s Colorstay lipstick in Smooth Nude and I personally don’t like it at all.

Crème Brûlée is the most wearable nude lipstick I have tried.  It lightens the lip color without making me look sick.

Not only does it provide a subtle nude color to the lips, but it finishes it off with a pretty sheen!  Ahh can you tell I’m in love?

What’s best about this is that it won’t slip and slide up to the corners of my lips, and does not emphasize the lines in my lips.

So considering I am raving about every color I have bought, I can safely say that the online raves about this product are well warranted and I absolutely love them.  I am looking forward to trying Loreal’s version too ^

Jill Stuart madness

I can’t say I’ve been a fan of JS e/s for a long time now, but I have been crazy in love with their mix blush compacts!
I know I know.. they came out how many years ago, and I was slow to jump on the band wagon.

I also got some samples with my purchase.  The lace product is a hair band, there is a floral scented body cream, foundation and cream wash.

Tell you a funny story, I got totally owned by the SA.  I thought the Fairy Garden range had not come out yet, so I was going to buy a pink and an orangey blush, then the SA went and showed me a whole section behind and I got caught up in the moment and bought two orangey blushes instead!! No regrets though, you’ll see why in a bit

I definitely got to work on doing better blush reviews, because it’s so hard to give them justice through pictures  :( Sorry!!

Jill Stuart Fairy Garden Mix Blush Compact 106 Sprouting Joy

The lighting has muted out the  shimmers in the palette

The top left is the most shimmery, while the rest have subtle sheen

Pros:

• Love the design on the palette
• I love how the lid clicks so you know that it is shut properly hehehe
• Brush is soft and does the job
• Light-moderate pigmentation that can be layered
• Does not feel powdery at all
• Blending different parts of the palette can provide a different shade of color
• On the cheeks, this becomes a very pretty baby peachy pink with a glowy finish
• I’ve grown to like the scent of Jill Stuart cosmetics

Jill Stuart Mix Blush Compact 12 Candy Orange

Definitely the orange blush I was looking for ^^

In contrast to 106, the top left is the least shimmery, while the top right and bottom left have the most fine shimmers.

Side by side, they look like they have a similar theme, but they come out very different on the cheeks

Swatch: Left = 106 Sprouting Joy,  Right = 23 Candy Orange

As you can see, the blush on the left is very pink in comparison to the right.  I love both of them!!

When I want to go for a sweeter look I use sprouting joy, and if I want to put a bit more color on my cheeks I use candy orange.

Jill Stuart Fairy Garden Collection lip gloss 16 Shiny Carnelian

I thought I might like an orange lip gloss since I don’t have anything this bright ahaha

Pros:

• High gloss
• Light pigmentation
• Lasts a good length of time if you don’t eat
• No chunky glitters, delicate multi-colored microshimmers
• Looks sticky but is actually not too sticky with a thin layer
• Smooths out the lines on the lips
• Gives a glistening finish like crystal
• Very sturdy packaging
• Princessy ^^

Cons:

• Even though it looks very orange, it still turns out pinkish on the lips due to the pink microshimmers
• Don’t over-apply or else you will look like you drank oil
• Has the signature floral scent – not sure how good this is for you :S

Overall really enjoying the products I bought from Jill Stuart, so for those who have given up on their e/s, definitely keep an eye out for their blushes because I still think it’s one of the better ones out there.

Paul & Joe eye products

Ahh Paul & Joe, I thought I was only after the eye primer, then I got sucked into the color palette!

The palette is substantial in size, while not being too large to put into your bag

A wonderful combination of silver, gold, taupes and golden chocolate – reminds me of Chanel’s Topkapi palette

I LOVE the gold, taupes and the brown – OK so basically I love this whole palette

I thought the blush was way too shimmery and bright, but applied on the face the shimmers turn into a pretty glow.

Pros:

• Smooth texture
• Buildable pigmentation, won’t go blotchy
• Beautiful, elegant shimmer
• The tone of the taupe and chocolate brown is not as red as Chanel’s Topkapi palette
• Blush is not actually too dark, it shows up as a rosy stain on the cheeks
• The blush brush included is soft and applies the blush quite well
• Minimal fall out, none if you tap off the excess from your brush
• Pretty and sturdy packaging
• Decent sized shadows, will last a long time
• Full sized mirror, you can really see a lot when using it XD

Paul & Joe Eye Color Primer in 02 4.8mL

Really livens your e/s!

Look at that pigmentation difference

Pros:

• Comes in various colors to suit different skin tones
• Even though there are different colors, it applies colorless
• Applies smoothly, unlike UDPP which has started to tug at my eyes and applies patchy ><
• A little goes a long way
• Dries quickly for e/s application
• When dry the e/s still applies very easily without patchiness
• Helps my e/s last the whole day without smudging
• Cute packaging

• Simple packaging
• Contains a light and dark color so this can easily be an all in one product
• Very shimmery, like glistening water ^^
• No fallout
